Welcome to Day 362 of our Life Journal!
Click here for today’s reading: Revelation 5; Revelation 6; Revelation 7; Revelation 8; Revelation 9 2012 Daily Bible Reading Plan)
Before you comment or read what I have posted, please read the following passages for yourself and complete your own S.O.A.P. exercise… How does this work?
S.O.A.P = Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer
Revelation 5:5, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
Revelation 6, six of the seven seals are opened. For more detail, see the Life Journal from Day 240. (This is our second time through the New Testament/Revelation.)
Revelation 7:11, “All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying:
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Revelation 8:13, “Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!”
Revelation 9:12, “The first woe is past; two other woes are yet to come.”
This glimpse of “the future” given to John is pretty intense. The seals, the trumpets, the woes…
I decided to approach Revelation differently this time through. Not getting so hung up in all the detail as I did last time. I really wanted to dig deep and understand more clearly the book of Revelation. This time, however, I just want to take it at face value and approach it in a more relaxed way. More of a 30,000 foot fly over as it were.
Revelation, when you boil it down, is all about Jesus being the only one who is worthy.
Worthy of what?
All praise and honor and glory and power.
The only one worthy to open the scroll, break the seals.
The first time Jesus came, it was as “the Lamb of God.”
His next coming will be as “the Lion of the Tribe of Judah!”
We can put our trust and hope and faith in Him!
Lord you are the one who is worthy!
I give you all my worship and praise!
