S cripture

Matthew 11:18, “For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’”

27 “No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son

and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

Matthew 12:11, “He said to them, ‘If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? 12 How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.'”

Matthew 13, the parable of the sower and the seed.

O bservation

“No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son

and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

A pplication

Jesus reveals the Father to us.

His disciple, Philip, said, “Show us the father and that will be enough.” Jesus responded with, “I have been with you so long!” Then Jesus made a bold statement…

“If you have seen me, you have seen the Father.”

That’s bold.

And that was Jesus’ mission… to reveal the Father.

P rayer

Jesus, reveal the Father to me…
