We are now at the 2/3 mark of our journey through the Bible together!

The next dozen chapters of Ezekiel are explanations of judgment (12:1–24:27).

Ezekiel 12, “The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, you are living among a rebellious people. They have eyes to see but do not see and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious people.”

(Having “ears to hear” is referenced in Revelation 2 and 3.)

Ezekiel 13:6, “They say, “The Lord declares,” when the Lord has not sent them; yet they expect their words to be fulfilled. 7 Have you not seen false visions and uttered lying divinations when you say, “The Lord declares,” though I have not spoken?”

Ezekiel 14:13, “Son of man, if a country sins against me by being unfaithful and I stretch out my hand against it to cut off its food supply and send famine upon it and kill its men and their animals, 14 even if these three men—Noah, Daniel and Job—were in it, they could save only themselves [20 nor their sons and daughters] by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign Lord.”

Revelation 5:5, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals. Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain… 13 “Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”

O bservation

Jesus is the only one who is worthy.

A pplication

Interesting that Jesus is the Lamb of God and the Lion of the tribe of Judah…

The Lion and the Lamb.

The worthy one who has all power and dominion, yet he emptied himself while on the earth, taking on the form of a human, not considering equality with God something to be grasped (Philippians 2:6).

He is worthy to open the scroll…

He is worthy of all glory and praise!

This is a very real glimpse of heaven itself. Of things that were, are and will be.

One of the greatest songs ever written comes right out of Revelation 5: “Revelation Song”

Worthy is the… Lamb who was slain… holy, holy is he.

P rayer

Jesus, you are worthy of all honor and glory and praise!

“You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. (Revelation 5:9 NIV)
Thank you Jesus for paying our debt! We are not worthy, but your grace abounds!

  2. Rev. 5:13 then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea and all that’s in them singing to him that sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praises and honor and glory and power forever and ever. What’s also beautiful about this verse is that it says ALL animals. That means our pets that God so graciously shares with us and the animals that are extinct here on earth now. Father I thank you that your preparing a beautiful place for us to worship and sing praises to you. Thank you for loving us!
